     “Was... and Were...” 

                    

With adjectives: 

I was happy/sad/early/late/on time.

 

With prepositional phrases:

I was on the phone/in the classroom.

 

With adjectives:

He

She was fast/slow/smart/foolish/tired.

With prepositional phrases:

He

She was at home/school/in the kitchen.

It

 

With adjectives: 

They

We were busy/lazy/bored/excited.

With prepositional phrases:

We were at the cinema/ in the lobby.
